Brett Jones, Corporate Recruiter

BrettJWhat do you do in your position? I am a Corporate Recruiter for Oldcastle Materials, Central Division. I handle all of the recruiting within the Materials group for the Midwest, Texas, and middle-America.

When did you join Oldcastle? January, 2018

Where is your job located? Rochester, New York.

What do you like about working here? So far, the best part has been the people.  Everyone is down to earth and wants to help each other succeed.

What are the best parts of your job? I enjoy managing both sides of the hiring process, in terms of recruiting and strategy.  It is rewarding to help managers identify what type of individual would be the best asset for their team and then going out and finding that person.

What was your first job ever? Slinging coffee and pastries at Dunkin’ Donuts and a Soccer Referee.

Would you like to share anything about your family?  I am lucky to have my immediate family all in the area, and we remain very close.

What are your hobbies? Writing, publishing, hiking & camping, cars, live music.

What was your first concert? The first concert I remember was probably Alan Jackson, but, technically, my first concert was John Cougar in my mom’s womb.

What is your favorite movie? Forrest Gump because it has everything: good music, love, war, hope, history, and snapshots of the United States.
